The Executive Board would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who came out for our Annual Alumni Regatta. Thanks to our wonderful alumni and Club sailors, the weekend was indeed a success! We had great company, great weather, and great sailing. The alumni made a gallant return, sailing into First and Second place, though the Third place boat of current Club sailors gave the alums a run for their money, missing Second by just one point. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and we look forward to more events with our alumni in the future!
Way to go, sailors who raced the 3-way regatta last weekend! We came out in 3rd overall, and had a great weekend! The wind was 5-8 kts on Saturday with enough shifts and puffs to make it interesting. On Sunday, the wind built to 12-18 kts and we finished out the rotation in top form to solidify our place. Detailed results can be found at http://www.mcsasail.org/files/2010-04-26/3_Way10.doc.
See you on the water!
Great job to our sailors who drove all the way to OSU to represent the Team last weekend! Steve Catlin and Alexandra Bracken sailed A’s and Colleen Mooney and Christie George sailed B’s. The weather was great on Saturday and the racing was tight. The first sail in an FJ for the season took some getting used to, but we had some great finishes. Unfortunately momentum was cut short, as there were no races on Sunday, due to a lack of wind. Marquette ended up in 5th place out of 11 teams, detailed results can be found at http://regatta.mit.edu/s10/buckeye-1/.
We are looking forward to some great competition at the Co-ed Qualifiers hosted by Notre Dame this weekend. Wish our racers luck, we hope to see you on the water!
Congratulations to our Freshman sailors, Pat Farrell, Peter McNulty, Cameron Elko, and Andrea Kiela, for coming in 1st Place at the Freshman Ice Breaker regatta at Notre Dame!!! And a special thanks to the other Club members who accompanied them to Indiana to show their support. Way to start the season off strong!!
